3. Watch ISD board meetings either in person or virtually to track discussions on issues. Meetings are typically on the 4th Thursday of the month in the board room at 6pm. Help Elizabeth Walley draft pro and con statements for propositions on the 2026 May local ballots.

2 to 3 volunteers for this team are desired. There will be a separate team canvasing our local jurisdiction for ballot items so the list of ballot items will evolve over the same time frame.

Please select slots for the days you can focus on this.

Please help us increase our candidate participation by providing information and encouragement. A list of candidates and script will be provided. The last day to file for the 2026 May Joint local elections was February 13. During the two weeks after that, another Vote411 team will be assembling the list of candidates. The candidates will be invited to participate in Vote411 on Saturday, March 7.

You can work on this anytime between Sunday, March 8 and Monday, March 23. Time slots for each day are provided so Elizabeth can see when you are available and can communicate with you.

We believe a team of 5 volunteers will make quick work of this task. We apologize that the Volunteer Opportunity says that so many volunteers are needed. The system simply multiplies every day by the number of volunteers needed.

• You will receive a link to the Master list, a Wrangler Handbook which has scripts for email and phone, and the timeline.

Help us verify and improve candidate photos in the Vote411 system. Often candidate submit bad photos. Some don’t seem to know what a head shot is, too dark, not centered. Or they don’t submit a photo because they don’t know how. It’s pretty easy to make the photos better or find and add good photos, but it takes some time.

Help us whittle down the text for the first draft of the Voters Guide. Elizabeth downloads the document into Word. There’s a whole lot of redundancy (duplication) in the download. The task is to strip out the redundancy. The doc might start with 200 pages. It gets shrunk down to half. Then the designer shrinks it to the size that is published.

Register and educate voters at Life Center Methodist Church. This is one of the churches that is a focus for the Dallas Voting Initiative in their efforts to increase voter turnout,
