HomeNeed Help Voting

What accommodations are available to voters with special needs?

  1. Voters may bring an assistant/interpreter to the polls to help them or have an assistant help them with their ballot-by-mail. For more information on rules for assistants, please see the Texas Secretary of State website: www.votetexas.gov/voters-with-special-needs/index.html .
  2. All polling locations must meet the minimum ADA requirements which are an accessible route for people in wheelchairs.
  3. For voters who cannot come into the building, Dallas County provides curbside voting during early voting and on Election Day. When you arrive at a polling location, you may call the number posted (or if you have an assistant with you, they may go inside to speak to a poll worker) and a poll worker will wheel the voting machine to your car.
