The City of Dallas is currently reviewing its budget, including decisions on how to allocate American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. We need a dedicated team to help track key budget issues, ensuring that we stay informed and ready to advocate effectively. If you're interested in joining this effort, please sign up—any information you can gather will be invaluable!

2. Monitor news sources for budget-related coverage.

3. Watch city council and community meetings to track discussions on funding priorities. City Council meetings are typically on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday. In person or online.

4. Identify budget committee members and check if their meetings comply with the Open Meetings Act.

5. Track key deadlines and meetings for the budget committee and City Council, especially opportunities for community input.

Register and educate voters at an event at the Juanita Craft House. We will be partnering with Junior League for the “Ballots and Braveheart” event on Wednesday, August 6. The objective of this event is to honor the 1965 Voting Rights Act, as well as the 40th memoriam of Ms. Craft.

The office is moving and we hope to have the process completed by the end of July.

We have a lot of great stationery that will be out of date. Let's have a party and knock these labels out! It should take only a couple of hours. We will focus on 200 each of letterhead, envelopes, note cards, and note card envelopes. We only need 3 people to meet once for this task, but I have added 6 time slots. Please treat this like a Doodle Poll and check off all the slots that work for you. I will follow up with everyone on the consensus.

We are also seeking volunteers for these activities:

• a team wrapping the proclamations and framed posters and re-hanging in the new office.
• teams assessing the supplies. There are typical office supplies and tools, but we also have a lot of voter services material. Some of it is out of date. And then boxing it up for the move.
• a graphics volunteer to create a map (simple graphic) for the new office location.

If you would like to help with any of these other areas, please look for those volunteer opportunities.

Register and educate voters at the "Good Trouble Lives On" rally. LWVUS, Indivisible, and 50501 are partnering for this national day of action.

What is “Good Trouble Lives On?” Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

Coined by civil rights leader Congressman John Lewis, "Good Trouble" is the act of coming together to take peaceful, non-violent action to challenge injustice and create meaningful change. Good Trouble is marches, protests, service work – any action where communities come together, take a stand against wrongdoings, and speak truth to power.

The civil rights leaders of the past have shown us the power of collective action. That’s why on July 17, five years since the passing of Congressman John Lewis, we’re calling on Americans across the country to Make Good Trouble Together.

Two volunteers wanted to greet attendees, check them on the registrant list, and hand them a box lunch ticket. There will be a registration table. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year Women's Equality Day will be at the downtown Dallas Public Library. The subtitle of the event is "Promises yet to keep". The speakers will emphasize unfulfilled promises and the need for local solutions.

Two volunteers wanted to receive tickets and hand out box lunches at the food tables.. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
